Feature request

Would be great if it could run in the background as a PWA with notifications, and if there was a drop-down of registered users. Then it could work on mobile devices and bring together all of the ordinarily Facetime users with the non-Facetime users. :)

Pros

Enable it as a PWA
Enable notifications
Show a drop-down list of registered users to call.
Enable passwords or some other way (moderation?) to prevent abuse if the site was public.

Call-me offers an API endpoint that retrieves a list of all connected users, but the goal is not to display this list publicly or in a dropdown. Instead, it is designed to seamlessly integrate with existing chat applications or third-party systems. For example, if you have a website with a chat feature where users are already listed, Call-me’s click-to-call functionality allows them to easily initiate calls directly from the chat. This enhances the user experience without requiring an additional interface.

For privacy and security reasons, the list of connected users is not publicly accessible when you self-hosting your instance of Call-me. It is important to change the default API KEY SECRET to ensure that only authorized parties can access this information, maintaining user privacy and preventing unauthorized access.

The system allows anyone to sign up using a unique identifier, such as a phone number, name, email, or anything else to connect with other users identified in the same way. This enables users to initiate calls with others they know, while keeping the list of connected users private, ensuring a simple and secure experience.
