commit pinning to a managed role's got commit

does ansible role manager support the idea of pinning to a particular commit? Suppose we want to use arm in production and it depends on a rapidly changing roll. We would want to pin to a specific commit and I don't see how to do that here. In this case I would want the functionality of git submodules.
