happening on mac osx even without browser being connected. I know the user shouldn't edit the file while running but I always forget that livereload is running.

It's safe to edit .livereload file on the fly. However, not sure about 100% CPU.

I'm having the same issue on OSX Lion using Ruby 1.9.2@p290.
