TensorFlow Developer Certificate Program Shutdown (as of May 1 2024)

The main purpose of the ZTM TensorFlow for Deep Learning course was to teach the fundamentals of deep learning as well as how to build and train neural networks for various problems with TensorFlow/Keras.

The TensorFlow Developer Certification was an optional extension for those completing the course to test/verify their skills.

However, as of 1 May 2024, the TensorFlow Developer Certification is no longer available for purchase:

It seems Google/the TensorFlow team are shutting it down.

I'm not sure why.

But after reaching out to them, it seems that there aren't any concrete next steps in place:

With this in mind, I've updated the course materials on GitHub (namely section 11) to reflect this.

Videos/lectures on Udemy/Zero to Mastery will be updated to reflect this change as well.

Are the rest of the course materials still valid?

Yes, I designed the course to be fundamental with regards to deep learning and TensorFlow in general with the exam as an optional add on.

So if you're looking to gain skills building and training neural networks with TensorFlow in a beginner friendly manner, the course is still for you.

However, if your sole purpose was to get the TensorFlow Developer Certificate, I'd reconsider your options.

Remember, certificates are nice to have not need to have. There are many ways to showcase your skills, certificates are only one.

Hi Daniel,
I was not sure where to ask this question, but I took your tensorflow_certification course and in that I am running into a problem. Hope,you will help me out with it. Currently, colab is restricted to some free resources because of that I am unable to download the dataset into my colab for milestone project 1 (FoodVision Big). Can you provide me solution or an alternative for it. Currently, I am performing the whole code in Jupyter notebook. But won't be able to get advantage of Google's TPU T4.

I also ran into this issue, it takes time but it can be done with a CPU. It seems that google is limiting the resources more and more. I would say that for most of the rest of the course, a CPU is fine. Text and time series data is smaller and you just have to wait a few minutes for some of the experiments. Maybe try a basic computer vision project on Kaggle (30 GPU hrs/week) if you want more experience with image processing. Just my thought.
