After installing Musicbee Remote plugin on the Plugin section of MusicBee, the Musicbee Remote app cannot connect to the library as an error message says there's a "socket closed", and "connection refused". Everything is open in the firewall, and when the firewall is disabled the same error message appears.
I'm running the MusicBee Remote app from an android emulation from Bluestacks running within a Windows 11 system, and it worked well once, but I had to reinstall Musicbee from scratch to solve an issue with the libraries which had duplicate links, and they couldn't be deleted without deleting the pointed music files. After deleting the whole installation and starting a new installation from scratch it gave this error and I've been unable to solve it as no firewall rule seems to work.
I've tried also to connect from the Musicbee Remote app in my iphone but it doesn't connect it either.
Expectation
I expected the "Manage connections" option withing the Musicbee Remote would find the library and would link the music files to be used, but library is empty in the Remote, but populated in Musicbee without problems.
Steps To Reproduce
Musicbee installed in a Windows 11 system, and working fine.
Musicbee Remote app installed in an Android emulation from Bluestacks running in Windows 11.
Musicbee Remote Settings > Manage Connections > Add ; it doesn't connect to the library stored in Musicbee.
Error message "Connection refused", and "Socket closed".
Port 3000 is opened in the firewall (ESET Internet Security running in W11).
Disabling firewall and network protection does not help either as the same error happen.
Environment
- App Version: Musicbee 3.4.8033 - Musicbee Remote App v 1.5.1 Build time 2021-09-13T17:01Z
- Android Version: Bluestacks 5.3.145.1003 Android emulator, with Musicbee Remote app installed
- Device: Windows 11 running on a new HP Pavilion
Anything else?
It worked well at least once, and it stopped working after reinstalling Musicbee again, so it should be possible to recover it, but no clue about how to find where the socket is or how to manually open it.
The text was updated successfully, but these errors were encountered:
It could be some configuration with the Bluestacks networking, I am not sure how it works but I vaguely recall having some problems connecting using the Android emulator.
I will need to check it since Windows is not my daily driver OS for years now.
Is there an existing issue for this?
