Just a quick query to see if anyone has done anywork as it seems to be an ideal linkage to tie this in with PredBat.
Personally I have managed to at least get my fox to integrate and i am currently using PredBat to control charging/discharging via modbus and Nathan's add-on, but Predbat control seems to be in it's simplest form either by switching Inverter modes and/or overwriting the charge limits. Don't get me wrong, it's great that it works and i don't have to think about charging schedules etc and how much.
However, It would be nice to be able to use Predbat to control things a bit finer and to try and save on costs a little more i.e. I would like to be able to use the charge periods so that it can then enable/disable the charge period & have the force charge options as well so that way, if Predbat wanted to run the house off the grid at cheap rates, then it could set the times on the Inverter with the with the period enabled, to prevent battery discharge and then also switch on the charge from grid option when it needed it.
But with just using the work modes, this type of operation is not possible without having to manually set it up. So what Predbat does instead is to charge the battery a little more, to allow for discharge overnight, creating slightly more battery cycle use, when instead, it Predbat could pause charging if it wanted to providing the inverter supports it.
To be able to do this, i think this is done via Service Calls??
I know Nathan has set up a couple of services for the charge periods and also a write service. But i'm not sure for instance if i wanted to use pause control how i would go about and if/or i needed to use the write registers, but then i have no idea what addresses or values to use and how to i then tie this back to PredBat i.e.How do i know what Service calls PredBat is using to then know what calls i need to set up.
I've think I've now completely bamboozled myself - If I've not made myself very clear, i apologize as at this point none of this is particularly clear to me!
If anyone has managed any further refinements on doing this with Predbat - could you please let me know.
Thanks
