Explorer for Non-tech Users

• Better Dashboard to make the key data visible right away (Dashboard Redesign #405)
  This initiative is contributed by YOU, led by @frol, designed by @corwinharrell, and implemented by @icerove

• We are going to take a step back and remove the balance details from Explorer, but provide a handy link to the Wallet Profile page, where you will have a better view and breakdown of all the balances (Roll back the detailed balances on Explorer in favor of Wallet Profile link #464)
  This initiative is led by @frol, and implemented by @icerove

Explorer for Contract Developers

• Explorer will use a new chain data synchronization backend (served by Indexer for Explorer) to present a feature-complete insight into the data floating around in the chain (e.g. cross-contract calls [lockup, staking pool, and your own contracts will be in a better position to see what was going on], validator rewards, validator unstakes, etc)
  This initiative is led by @frol, and implemented by @khorolets and @icerove
  • Indexer for Explorer implementation is almost feature-complete, and we are currently squashing some bugs (@khorolets)
  • Explorer backend and frontend is work in progress (Migrate Explorer to the Indexer for Explorer #450) (@icerove)

Explorer for Validators

• Validators Dashboard page redesign is currently in progress (Design Dashboard for Validators #370)
  This initiative is contributed by YOU, led by @frol, designed by @corwinharrell, and implemented by ...

• The new Indexer for Explorer is going to expose validator rewards, see the Explorer for Contract Developers section for more details

• Indexer for Explorer: @khorolets: The migration is ongoing (deployed on GCP Run Indexer for Explorer for each network near-indexer-for-explorer#22). ETA is the end of this week to be feature-complete. testnet and mainnet were successfully started to sync from genesis (syncing quite rapidly).
• Balances on Explorer: @frol The balances are confusing to users, so let's consider replacing those with a link to Wallet Profile, and focus on improving that page on the Wallet side collecting all the possible sources of tokens (staked, delegated, locked, NFT, etc).
  • @corwinharrell: It is important to understand how people are using Explorer.
  • @frol: Do we want to hide the balances on Explorer?
  • @kcole16: still should have the native NEAR balances for the low-level view.
  • @corwinharrell: How about displaying "Total Balance"?
  • @kcole16: In Wallet "Total Balance" means all the assets the user controls (including delegated, etc).
  • @frol: It is hard to pull all the possible balances from all the contracts holding tokens for the users.
    Final Decision: roll back to native balances (brainstorm the name) and point users to the Wallet Profile. Roll back the detailed balances on Explorer in favor of Wallet Profile link #464
• Redesign of the Dashboard: @frol: Let's revisit the design Dashboard Redesign #405. /cc @icerove

This is the first update we publish on Github Discussions for NEAR Explorer. I will experiment with the way we pull out the updates, so they might be in a form of a conversation from the contributors with my summary compiled out of those reports.
