What’s New

• CKB
  • We updated the design document of ReplaceByFee feature
• CKB Light Client
  • We updated details on Light Client protocol’s softfork deployment
  • Started working on a security issue where the full node could hide specific transactions data from the Light Client protocol. It’s likely the light client mainnet launch will be postponed 😟
• CKB-VM
  • Ported the halo2 library to CKB-VM
    • The goal is to be able to run halo2 applications on CKB-VM after some optimization.
  • Implemented the pearson hash function for benchmarking and testing with zero knowledge brainfuck
• Open Transaction
  • Implemented the 0x01 command useful for scenarios such as blank cheque and crowdfunding
  • Started working on a service that assembles some of the inputs/outputs of open transactions submitted by users into a CKB transaction, then broadcasts to the P2P network.

What’s Coming

• CKB
  • Adding the serde feature to faster-hex lib to simplify the code for serialization/deserialization of json bytes in CKB code base
    • WIP: serde support  faster-hex#25
  • Adding a feature to customize union id in the molecule lib
    • WIP: Proposed new syntax to support custom implementation of union id molecule#59
• CKB Light Client
  • Working on a new release version to patch the security issue mentioned above
• CKB-SDK
  • Improving the documentation for the Rust-SDK and including more examples for developers to get started easier
• CKB-VM
  • Proposing new macro-op fusions to reduce number of execution cycles for complicated contracts such as halo2, secp256k1, etc.
  • Improving contract execution performance by optimizing the instruction decoder
