It would be nice to have a compact, minimal graphical stack in place that works well with read-only root. We could activate it for browser-based info panels or signage, or create audio dashboards using existing measurement plugins and their GUIs.

For now, the most straightforward way is likely X11, but Wayland progress should be monitored as well.
