Show video length in UI (to compact view)

When looking at my starred items, I oftentimes decide what video to watch based on how long the video is and how much time I actually have. ATM I have to open each video to find out its length and I don't have an overview at all.

This is rather similar to this feature request but for videos.
Since it is discussed there whether or not this should be implemented in the backend or frontend:
IMO the data should live in the backend as I ultimately would also want to see this info in other clients as well (like the Android app).

This is just FYI, so that you can understand my use case & goals better. I surely don't want to tell you how to implement this.

Hi, I'm not sure if this can be done.

Do you have an example feed that contains videos, then we could at least check the RSS for options.

Worst case I assume the backend would need to download the video and use some tool to check the length.
I don't think we can do that.

If there is some other way to figure this out, maybe :)

As far as I can see, this doesn't include video durations 🙁.

In theory you could grab that information from the Youtube API e.g. as explained in this SO answer but I don't know how up to date this answer is and I fully understand if you don't want to call specific service APIs from a generic RSS feed reader.
