Online editor is not available (file is downloaded instead of opening in online editor) #561

Office Online server is reachable on settings page, but nothing happens when try to open file - file is just downloaded and no option "View" in file menu.

Expected behavior
Online Editor should be opened when click on file

I have faced the same problem with Nextcloud 29.0.2 and Office Online version 2.2.1, can you please fix this?

after installing 2.2.1 everything stopped working again. everything was working as intended after installing the patch mentioned in this issue (#554 (comment)).
I tried rolling back to 2.2.0 but same problem occurred. I tried applying the "old" patch to 2.2.0 and that fixed not being able to edit shared documents but the issue with editing from "files" menu persists.

Tried reinstalling officeonline but issue still persists. editing from shared links works but opening them from the "files" view is broken. (NC 29.0.4 & Officeonline 2.2.1.).
Last stable version where everything is working is NC 28.0.6 & Officeonline 2.2.0 (with patch applied)

any updates on this issue?

i had the same problem but my solution may not apply to your enviroment.
When i checked f12 i could observe 404 errors on requests for some js stuff (logs & activity in admin web-interface were also broken because of this).
I fixed this by adding "application/javascript js mjs; " to mime.types and allowing mjs in the .htaccess file. (nextcloud/server#42989 (comment)).
