Completely new install of NC 14..0.3, Ubuntu 18.0.4

Create backup
Could not copy "/var/www/nextcloud/config/config.php.orig" to "/var/nc_data/updater-ocel8388flt1/backups/nextcloud-14.0.3.0/config/config.php.orig". Source /var/www/nextcloud/config/config.php.orig is not readable. Destination /var/nc_data/updater-ocel8388flt1/backups/nextcloud-14.0.3.0/config/config.php.orig is not writable

Steps to reproduce

  1. Start installer for NC 15.0.0 beta 2
    2.Installation stops at Create backup.

GitMate.io thinks possibly related issues are #2373 (htaccess.RewriteBase in config.php is not changing behaviour of nextcloud), #2978 (After upgrade PHP5.5.9 to 5.6.29: An exception occured in driver: could not find driver' in /var/www/nextcloud/lib/private/DB/Connection.php), #10950 (Nextcloud 14 RC 2 Installer::isUpdateAvailable() should not be called statically at /var/www/nextcloud/apps/serverinfo/lib/SystemStatistics.php#169), #180 (white screen if webserver has no read access to config.php), and #11240 (Consider openssl settings from config.php).

I guess you made a backup of config.php while you were logged in as root? config.php.orig does not belong to nextcloud. Move it anywhere else (outside nextcloud directory) and try again.

I dont know why this was owned by root.
I did sudo chown -R www-data:www-data /var/www/nextcloud/config

and then the upgrade worked.
