No internet = broken local LAN "SMB/SFTP" shares - external storage app. #8482
Comments
How did this "broken" remote storage shares look like? Anything in the logs? anything in the clients? cc @icewind1991 |
@sesipod Could you copy that error message from the @icewind1991 Does the files_external app checks internet connectivity before connecting to the storage? |
Seems that there are a few other issue now with Nextcloud that I'm seeing. Mobile apps Android / IOS showing that Server is in maintenance mode. Updater is not wanting to run to update to 13. I setup 2 SFTP shares tonight and only one is showing but the other doesn't. They both show green Check marks. I am going to spin up a new vm and test out disconnecting internet form it and see if i get the same results. Currently running: |

Hello all! If this topic has been covered before please link me.
I noticed last night when my home internet connection went down that my local LAN external Storage locations also broke. I have Nextcloud running on a Debian VM on Esxi and a FreeNAS box running on the same network. The storage shares are local and should not be impacted by an internet outage.
This is a Nextcloud / plugin issue as my FreeNAS smb shares still worked for my desktop pc and android phone using an app.
10+ hrs later.
Now that the internet is back up and all of my storage locations are working again without reboot on the vm or the FreeNAS server and I didn't change any configurations during the outage.
