In Windows 10, when a monitor is hooked up to the onboard graphics card, the Intel graphics processor is present in Device Manager. When there is no local display connected to the onboard VGA/DVI port and the connection is by RDP, Chrome Remote Desktop, VNC, Teamviewer, etc. the onboard display is no longer present in Device Manager, even when "Show Hidden Devices" is selected. There are however still references to it in the registry and in the DriverStore cahe.

The fix is to run Sysinternals ProcMon and filter only on NHM. After capturing until NHM shows the blank white screen, perform a search for "OpenCL". Ignore the \AppData\Local\Temp entries and continue until you find a path showing C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\xxxxx.
(Example: C:\Windows\System32\DriverStore\FileRepository\igdlh64.inf_amd64_250db833a1cd577e\IntelOpenCL64.dll).
In Windows Explorer browse to that folder, right click and take ownership of the folder, propogating the ownership to all child objects. Then add the current user or Administrators group with full access, again propogating permissions to all child object. Now delete or rename the folder and NHM should open normally.

Hi Marina,
Is it possible that we can get together in skype and you show me how to do it? I really do not understand this pretty well, I tried but I could not perform the filter on Sysinternals ProcMon, as I do not now if it is a process name, path, etc.

Or if you can send me a screen shot of the filter that would work.

Thanks,

Jaime
