Due to OS issues and the like, we really should have a light/dark mode override in settings. There are a few levels of implementation for this:

A desktop-only override
A mobile override that doesn't mess with splash screens
A mobile override that writes into native storage, allowing splash screen change as well

We'll see where we can go with this. At least the first one would be nice to start, I think.
