Is there an existing issue for this?

  • I searched the existing issues and did not find anything similar.

Current Behavior

The app shows a game that isn't actually running in the Apps section. The game is called Trepang2
image
(Theres also "Geoclue Demo Agent", no idea what that is, doesnt show in the other process monitors i use below)

But it doesnt show in System Monitor:

Or in Mission Control:

And Steam doesnt show it as running

The 'show app information' doesnt show any useful information that would help know what it actually is, like the file path of the process (which would help to see the actual app, should i open a feature request for that?) but it does show it doing stuff, like writing and reading disc, (but it also has an ID that correlates to the app e.g. "ID: trepang2", so im not sure...), so that why I reckon its an actual process, but its just got maybe faulty information.

App information:

Expected Behavior

For it to have the correct name and icon

Steps To Reproduce

  1. Open app
  2. See erroneous/mislabelled process

Environment

Programme Version 1.6.0
Package type: Flatpak from mintinstall
System: Linux Mint 21.3 Virginia

Anything else?

Hi,
the executable name of Steam games is usually also "steam" as it calls the running Steam instance to open a game, which can sometimes lead to Resources confusing Steam with a game and vice versa. I'll look into making special cases for Steam games.

Thanks for the reply and explanation, i didnt know that.

But I don't think i had any games running, and it doesn't explain the "Geoclue Demo Agent". Any thoughts on that?

This isn't necessary for Resources to get confused.

I can put that in the blacklist.

Ah ok

I can put that in the blacklist.
but wouldnt that confuse people that had that app actually running on their machine? Since its not a steam app

I was referring to the Geoclue Demo Agent. :) It's a technical app that probably isn't relevant to most users
