Javanese penyangga ꦀ U+A980 and cecakꦁ U+A981 appears on tarung ꦴ U+A9B4 instead of on the previous symbol. Example: ꦀꦀ appears on o ꦎ symbol U+A98E when typing "om" [ꦎꦴꦀ] or if you type the penyangga first before tarung, it doesn't fuse [ ꦎꦀꦴ] #1

Font
'NotoSansJavanese-Regular.ttf'.

Where the font came from, and when

Font Version

OS name and version

Application name and version

Issue:
Javanese penyangga ꦀ U+A980 and cecakꦁ U+A981 appears on tarung ꦴ U+A9B4 instead of on the previous symbol. Example: ꦀꦀ appears on o ꦎ symbol U+A98E when typing "om" [ꦎꦴꦀ], or if you type the penyangga first before tarung, it doesn't fuse [ ꦎꦀꦴ]

The penyangga is supposed to be on the O character instead of the tarung as below:

image

Cecak ꦁ appears on tarung while it should be on the previous character.

wong; ꦮꦺꦴꦁ

If you type cecak before tarunfg it doesnt fuse ꦮꦺꦁꦴ
Should be:

image

Also it appears that layar ꦂꦂhas the exact same problem. ꦧꦺꦴꦂ orꦧꦺꦂꦴ

And perhaps for other symbols as well. Basically, none of those should be on top of the tarungꦴ but on the main aksara (character) instead.

To my knowledge balinese also has this problem so please fix that as well! Please view the typed Javanese characters with noto font to see the problem. Thanks

@Apsodia : this is unrelated to the problem you listed. However, I'd like to hear your opinion/feedback on two proposals for the replacement of the current Javanese which is included in the PDF below (the original is grey, the suggested change is in black). Please look at the pages # 2 and # 3 in the PDF and tell use what version do you prefer and why?

@Apsodia : BTW, we are leaning toward page # 3 (low contrast design option) because it is matching better Noto Sans and Roboto font design. If you are opposed to it, what would be the major critique or argument against page # 3 (low contrast design option) becoming the new design?

The syllable ꦎꦴꦀ aum̐ has been fixed, but other syllables containing U+A980 JAVANESE SIGN PANYANGGA have not, and the problems with U+A981 JAVANESE SIGN CECAK and U+A982 JAVANESE SIGN LAYAR have not been addressed.

Noto Sans Javanese 2.000 now allows aum̐ to spelled <U+A98E U+A9B4 U+A980> or <U+A98E U+A980 U+A9B4>. It should only allow the former. Suppressing the dotted circle is inconsistent with other fonts and inconsistent with other syllables in the same font, and encourages users of this font to spell the word wrong.

@marekjez86, please reopen this. Only one character sequence was fixed out of all affected.

I believe this is now fixed, but to be honest I think I would need more test cases to be sure:

ꦮꦺꦴꦁ now puts the cecka on the wa, not the tarung:

layar similarly: ꦧꦺꦴꦂ

OK, yes, I'm happy with this:
