Will more data be processed?

Hi, I am an undergraduate student under @satra working on HBN diffusion data. I noticed that the full HBN dataset has over 4k participants but this repo only has around 2k. May I ask if it is possible to get more data? Is it that the missing participants do not have (good) data or it hasn't been processed? Thank you!

Hi @claudia-liauw. Thanks for reaching out about this. There are a combination of factors leading the difference in participant numbers. Although there are over 4,000 HBN participants, there are 3,448 participants with MRI data and 2,943 with DWI data (see the neuroimaging data access part of the HBN data portal). The participants in this dataset come from releases 1-9, so it's already missing the 700 participants with MRI from release 10, which is the most recent release. That leaves 2,748 participants to start with. From there, the data provenance is described in Figure 1 of our preprint. The paper itself is in press at Sci Data so I expect that to come out fairly soon.

So that accounts for the discrepancy between the total number of HBN participants and the number of participants in this dataset. The remaining part of your question is when do we plan on incorporating release 10 into this dataset. This might give us an additional ~700 participants. And the answer is I'm not sure. @arokem and I will have to schedule a time to do tha but we have a lot of other things in our queue right now. I'll leave this issue open until then.
