Steps to reproduce:

  1. Open NVDA and an document with a table in Microsoft Word or create a new table
  2. Make sure the table has some empty cells
  3. Make sure UIA for Microsoft Word is set to "always" in NVDA advanced settings
  4. Switch to browse mode in Microsoft Word with NVDA+space bar
  5. Navigate the table with arrow keys

Actual behavior:

When using only arrow keys to navigate, NVDA skips the empty cells of the table. Using ctrl+alt+arrow keys works properly though.

Expected behavior:

Using Arrow keys in browse mode should also traverse empty cells, same as it does in focus mode.

The same behavior occurs when using the panning keys on a braille display, also in focus mode.
