Verifiable Credentials are cryptographically secured statements about a Subject, typically the Holder.
This sentence is confusing as it does not distinguish between the Holder which is an application and a Subject which is usually an individual who has the control of the Holder.

Digital Credentials are cryptographically secured statements about a Subject issued by a Digital Credential Issuer.
A Holder is an application placed under the control of a Subject that receives a Digital Credential from a Digital Credential Issuer and when selectively disclosure is supported add Selected Disclosures and optionally a Key Binding Token.
A Key Binding Token allows the Verifier to know that the private key corresponding to a public key which is present in the Digital Credential has been used to create it. When selective disclosure is used, both the Digital Credential and the Selected Disclosures, if any, are integrity protected under that private key.
