Render HTML in page names displayed in left sidebar

I want to prepend icons to the page names displayed in the page menu (left side bar) via the name property of the pages object in observable.config.ts. Both attempts below fail:

pages: [
    {name: `<i class="fa fa-foo"></i>Foo`, path: "foo"}  /*escapes the HTML*/
]

pages: [
    {name: htm.html`<i class="fa fa-foo"></i>Foo`, path: "foo"}  /*error: htm is not defined*/
]

Is there a way to supply HTML names right in the configuration file?
