Local reverse proxy with SSL/TLS

there is a guide using ngrok and others that will add tls to osb-websockets.
Has anyone got it working with nginx/nginx proxy manager/haproxy with LE certs?

I have yet to get it to work.
With nginx i can get http reverse proxy with https in firefox working but websocket apps fail, even enabling websocket support fails.
I can also do nginx streams, but it will not use the ssl configs i give it even though there is no failure with nginx -t/-T and the server starts up. it just offers over http
