Hello human, I'm @whedon, a robot that can help you with some common editorial tasks. Due to the challenges of the COVID-19 pandemic, JOSE is currently operating in a "reduced service mode". You can read more about what that means in our blog post. For a list of things I can do to help you, just type:

@jgorzalski, how may I be of assistance for the review? |
Hi @AlexanderJuestel 👋 If you could please take a look at the list of reviewers and see if you have any suggestions that would be great! Thank you! |
Dear @jgorzalski, I would start with sharondenisse as her preferred programming language is Python and her Topic Areas include Geology Cheers |
@jgorzalski, I suggested some reviewers, maybe we can continue the procedure once you have time :) Cheers Alex |
@jgorzalski just wanted to check in when we can proceed with the Pre-Review? Cheers Alex |
@whedon invite @ShanEllis as editor |
@ShanEllis has been invited to edit this submission. |
Hi! Thanks for thinking of me, but I'm currently on parental leave and won't be able to get this done. |
Oops. Looks like I missed this fact, or confused it somehow with Tiffany, who is also on parental leave! |
@labarba maybe you know someone else who could become the editor for our submission? :) |
hi @AlexanderJuestel — we are operating on a reduced mode at JOSE, with post-pandemic burnout compounding with summer holidays and two editors on parental leave right now. We have plans to recruit more editors soon, but for now you have to be patient. I will in charge of assigning an editor, but it may not be as fast as you would like. |
All good, just wanted to check in :) |
Hey @labarba, just wanting to inquire if you have a rough schedule on how we proceed with the submission. No hurry from my side though. Cheers |
Hi @AlexanderJuestel — I cannot give you a schedule right now. The good news is that JOSE had a campaign to recruit new editors, and we have 7 editors joining the board as we speak! (They are being onboarded this week, and their profiles has already been posted to our website.) Thank you for your patience. |
@labarba, happy to take this one on. |
Thank you, @acocac ! I will assign you now. |
OK, the editor is @acocac |

Hi @sharondenisse — you volunteered to review for JOSE (The Journal of Open Source Education). Could you take a look at this submission and let us know if you might be able to volunteer a review for us? Thanks! 🙏 |
@AlexanderJuestel, thanks for the submission. It looks in line with the scope of JOSE. Note I've already asked to suggested reviewers their availability. I'll try to reach them via e-mail too. |
Hi @acocac , |
Hello @jwagemann, thanks for confirming your availability! I'm waiting the response of the second suggested reviewer. Hope to confirm here when we start the Review Process soon! |
