@retostauffer - thanks for your submission. As you can see, our DOI checked failed on your bibtex file. I think it might be because of the commented-out entries, as I don't think the use of |
Additionally, it's not clear to me that this is research software as defined by JOSS, so the editors will now discuss this. You should hear back in a week or two. |

The DOI 10.1016/0306-4573(91)90096-5 is for a review of the Tufte (1990) book Envisioning Information and not the book itself. For the book itself we couldn't find a DOI and hence did not further modify the .bib file. |
@retostauffer - thanks for waiting. We've decided this is research software, though it wasn't completely clear. I hope that during the review, you can make the case more clearly in the paper and in the readme/documentation, such as what kinds of research this is useful for. |

👋 @yc015 , would you be willing to review this submission for JOSS? We carry out our checklist-driven reviews here in GitHub issues and follow these guidelines: https://joss.readthedocs.io/en/latest/review_criteria.html |
We'd like to thank @danielskatz for handling the initial submission to JOSS and accepting our article for entering review. The choice of effective color maps plays a crucial role in accurately communicating scientific results, which are often presented visually through graphs and figures. In the revised version of the manuscript, we will more clearly emphasize the significance of this aspect for science and research. Additionally, we would like to extend our thanks to @jromanowska for overseeing the review process. Unfortunately, we do not have any suitable reviewers to suggest at this time, but I will reach out if I am able to identify any appropriate candidates. |
@retostauffer - as is written in the first comment in this issue, you might want to search the list of people that have already agreed to review and may be suitable for this submission. |

@dmreagan , thank you for agreeing to review the paper! I will start the official review tomorrow - I got one more person interested in reviewing, just need to wait for their final decision. |
@jromanowska thanks for the invitation. Unfortunately, I'm not available in the next month. |
