NotesIntrosDanielle has recently been invovled in 'network building' and 'field builing', mapping similar organizations and people as Life Itself. What is a second renaissance(r)?Room 1Danielle We are people living the question: How do we become the humans we need to be, both individually and collectively, to be in service to hospicing the old systems and midwifing the new systems that are emerging?

2nd renaissance?
Room 3
How can we sense into things that words cannot capture? Second Renaissance instills more 'hope'. Metacrisis is more of a 'sign post' or 'indicator', second renaissance is more of a 'call to action' What is there is something that we are missing by focusing merely on the metacrisis? Shifting in between languages can shift experiences, and adopting words and making words finite can be a problem. How can it be more of a global renaissance? How can it capture a global imagination, not just a european one? What are the building blocks that are needed to capture a global phenomenon, but make space for the voices that have not been heard/opinions that have not been heard, such that it is flexible? C: Second renaissancer =...
Summary in feedback sessionWhat is a second renaiassance? (feedback from break out rooms) R1: Holding multiple perspectives, and also 'playing with them', and not holding any of them too tightly and to be able to see 'humaness in everyone' no matter their beliefs, but also how to take the good parts of each of the perspectives. R2: Building vs documenting- can we document what is happening out there. What do we count as second renaissance, so we can build up a knowledge commons on that basis? These can then be learning materials. What could we create as a course, which could be a deliberatley devleopmental one, which could be a second renaissance 101? (This in itself would be stimulating) The paradox of building and emerging. Just 'building' is modern, waiting for something to emerge is a bit green, so maybe we need to go beyond and dive into the paradox for a both and approach. 'Cultivating'. What are the central metaphors of the second renaissance? R3: How eurocentric is the second renaissance in the sense that it stems from the first one, so how can we capture a global imagination? It is not a 'static' or 'finite' word, so how do we make space for others cultures which can use and understand and join in on the conversation, so that it can elevate the concept? It is not a sign post- more of a living word. In particular, how can other cultures join in at the start? |
