Why we need this fork #4

I totally agree with your project. I am a developer of a Linux distribution for PowerPC computers based on Linux Mint and Debian sid using LXDE. I am willing to help but I am not a programmer. I have a good knowledge of Linux though. I want to build patched Debian packages based on your new master LXDE branch. |

Hi Wandrien, I built lxpanel-0.10.2.rc1 in Debian sid and sent the packages to someone I know. He said that lxpanel works very well now. He said the following |

Hello @wandrien There are some new commits from https://github.com/lxde/lxpanel Why not merge them? If you fork this, why not open an issue here https://github.com/lxde/lxpanel asking people to move here. |

Hi @wandrien , thanks for keeping the project working. I was one of the main developers of lxde long time ago, but I'm no longer able to maintain it due to personal life issues. Would you like to have access to the original lxde project to make future development and maintenance easier? I can help set it up. Thanks! |

There are still many LXDE users, as well as unresolved bugs and unmerged pull request.
At the same time, most LXDE developers switched to LXQt.
Nobody reviews and merges pull requests, nobody makes new releases with bug fixes. There is no activity in the repositories.
The developers intentionally ignore LXDE, but at the same time they do not declare it obsolete and officially abandoned. Some time ago, one of them even wrote that "development continues." These words do not correspond to the facts.
I've been trying to contact some of the developers to offer my help in reviewing the PRs. I didn't get any response.
The only way to revive the project is to make copies of the repositories and start over with a new development team.
In this regard, this "fork" should not be considered as a fork, but as a new official LXDE upstream instead of the old abandoned one.
Everyone interested in working on LXDE are welcome.
