Looking Ahead - v4.0.0 - Houston, We Have A Client 🚀

👋 Hello friends!

With v4.0.0 release right around the corner, now's a good time to look ahead and see what's coming up. Alot of exciting new features are packed into this release - along with our first ever client - the Official Midarr for Kodi add-on! We're excited to show you what we've been working on in a stable beta version of the server down below too.

But before a beta, lets get some important notices out of the way:

Breaking changes

• Playlists page. Removed.
• Continues page. Removed.
• Radarr webhook. Requires manual setup with API token.
• Sonarr webhook. Requires manual setup with API token.

❗Important - This release requires a new fresh install. This is not backwards compatible with previous releases.

New features

• OIDC / OAuth 2.0 support. Use your own identity provider like Authentik to manage your end-users auth etc.
• API tokens. Access the Midarr REST API using your unique per user API token.
• History page. Access your media playback history along with playback progress.

Kodi add-on preview

Using your freshly minted API token you can now access your media from the comfort of your Kodi setup. With full support for accessing, displaying, and of course streaming your movie collection (series support yet to come), this is an exciting first step into first party client support.

From here on out as we continue to work towards release day, expect no more breaking changes or drastic new features. We'll be using this time to further refine and polish, so please feel free to open any issues you come across.
