When the device has no connection, the iPhone X shows the message in the upper side of the screen. Due to the notch of this device, the message is not correctly displayed, a bit hidden. An idea should be to display the error message between the top bar and the files view
In the bottom side of file preview view, the icons of av. offline and share are partially hidden behind the native bar to switch app

When device is offline, opening a downloaded file twice, the error message appears on the bottom and moves towards the upper side:
