Add quick save option to share sheet #65
Comments
That's not a bad idea! However, I think the backend automatically applies all inbox tags to all new documents being added. This feature could work on top of this however. |
I haven't found a setting anywhere on the server that does it, but will take another look. I just jumped ship from Android back to iOS, and the Android app I was using had implemented pretty much the same idea. |
I'm pretty sure if you simply enable "Inbox tag" on any tag that you have, it will automatically assign it to new documents regardless of where they come from. At least that's what happens for me. |
Ah, yes - you're right. I forgot I had that set, and it does indeed work as intended. Maybe, then, my feature request is to simply have an option to save new docs without prompting for additional details? Or maybe it's a separate save button that does that (eg. That way, people could use whichever save button suits their need at the time. |
Hmm, I'm not sure I can differentiate this at the share-sheet level, but I can look into it. Another thing that's on my list, but I haven't spent any time on so far is shortcut support. With that, this would presumably also be possible. |
@DeltaTangoLima Thinking about this again. In principle I could add a "fast save" option, but I'm wondering how that would work with multiple servers configured.
|
If I'm being honest, I'm finding it less and less something I think about now. Once you'd pointed out setting a default inbox tag, my workflow is pretty quick. I scan/share a doc, select Paperless from the share sheet, and just hit Save in the top right corner of the Paperless screen. Later on, back at my computer, I process it from the Inbox, like anything else. So, for me at least, I'd deprioritise this feature request if there are others that could deliver more value. Cheers! |
@DeltaTangoLima I see, that makes sense. I'll keep it open for the backlog, in any case. |
It'd be great if we could set default options for all scans/uploads, and skip that step each time we go to put a new document in.
For instance, I'd love it if I could configure the app to automatically tag all new docs with
inbox
and upload, the second I hit thesave
button. This way, I could process/file them later, using my computer. When traveling for business, this would really speed up the process of capturing my receipts for expense reporting later on.
