Let me take a picture of my U11F connections when I get home from work this evening and post it for you. Glad you noted the "SN" setting on the basic setup screen. I did not change any other setting on this screen but will have a look at that tonight as well. Do you have the termination resistor in the circuit? I do not see it in your photo. Meanwhile there is some information here https://www.sol-ark.com/wp-content/uploads/2023/03/Battery-Communications-Integration-Guide-V3.1.pdf This is right off of the Sol-Ark webste. Assuming you are using a laptop to communicate with the U11F directly you should be able to call |

Photo of my wiring. Note the termination jumper installed. Also note I am using three screws. From your picture it looks like you have two wires under the same screw? |

I got it working. Used pins 6, 7 and 8 on the Solark 485 port. Dug into the information on the thread https://diysolarforum.com/threads/sol-ark-inverter-monitoring.23717/page-2 Change my Modpoll parameters to: The defaults were not working for data bits and parity. The settings above worked for me. Now moving forward with the next step. thanks again. |

I continue to test my RS485 connection to the solark 12k , through the SH=U11F to a windows machine running modpoll without success. I believe all is working correctly except the Solark. Modpoll commands and time outs error shown in the attached photo
Modpoll - b 9600 -r 150 -c 20 COM8
I have read through this thread and tried to find similar solutions but none have worked so far. Let me explain what I have done to date.
Made and tried two different wires out of old Cat 6 RJ45 wires and cutting one connector off and connecting to the SH-U11F. I have looked at the Solark 12k indoor photos and connected B- (orange and white) to the B- terminal on U11f. Connected the A+ (solid orange) to the A+ and ground (green and white) to the ground terminal on the U11F. Checked this many times.
The U11F led blink when the connection is made. See attached video. This makes me think the communication between the windows machine and the U11F is good. It almost makes me think data is being detected on the U11f as the green led blinks. Not sure, since I never got this working correctly yet.
I have set the Parallel setting in the solark to 01 (modbus SN), left the slave box checked and the parallel box unchecked. Any other settings caused and error code on the Solark and it would not turn on until moving the settings back and rebooting. The errors observed were "Grid Mode Changed" and "Parallel Can Bus Fault" This scared the crap out of me as the unit would not turn back on until a reboot.
Not sure what else to try. There is always the possibility of a bad U11F. Here is the one Im using https://www.amazon.com/dp/B083XSG1RG?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details
thanks again for the support and help. John
