Use relative paths in UI

I understand that the UI assumes the application to be deployed in web root, but when deployed in virtual environment the actual URL used to reach that web root could be something else that breaks usage. If the UI HTML used relative paths (e.g. "stream/..." instead of "/stream/..." it would still work, in both scenarios.
I looked at the login page and tried to look into the code but could not find a place where this is explicitly set/configured but could this still be achieved?

To handle the SMP in a system behind a reverse proxy, deployed in a context path, set the configuration property smp.forceroot to true - so all links work from the external access

Well, it is in root, which is fine to me. However, I need some more details:

How did you deploy it so far? As Docker image or inside a Tomcat?
Are you trying to access it via localhost:8080 or via an external domain?
Have you configured a Reverse Proxy? If yes, which one?

It's deployed as an image (I have a sub image adding a keystore, but not changing anything) and configured solely through environment variables. It's deployed in our dev kubernetes cluster where external access is usually governed by having a cookie from a kube cluster login and implemented by you calling https://x.y.z/pods/default/[pod-name]/[pod-port]/[path towards service] and in this case the login page refers to https://x.y.z/stream/... and https://x.y.z/secure (and fails).
I don't know about a reverse proxy, but it turned out that we have an option of declaring a hostname in an ingress configuration and use that instead to reach the service more directly so in practice, for me, the improvement asked for is no longer needed.

Okay, got it. Thanks for the explanation. So using a hostname in combination with Ingress and the smp.forceroot=true should do the trick.
Please forget my remark on the reverse proxy - it's old school ;-)

With the ingress host I did not need to set smp.forceroot (so it's default and the docs don't say what that is).

The default value for this configuration property is indeed false.
Eventually there is an application.properties file that contains the setting smp.forceroot=true.
