Since my-repo-clones has become my goto way of cloning repositories (due to the way it selects the destination folder for me) I've tried cloning the Emacs source code. Unfortunately that doesn't work.

Steps to reproduce:

  1. M-x my-repo-pins https://git.savannah.gnu.org/git/emacs.git
  2. See the error: fatal: repository 'https://git.savannah.gnu.org/cgit/emacs.git/' not found

I can't repro with the current master. Are you sure your my-repo-pins install is up to date?

If so, could you paste the full `*messages`` output?
