Great resource and really appreciated. I thought sharepoint was over for us when they removed the ability to template libraries. Then a bit of diving behind the scenes and I found this which has dramatically reduced the amount of effort required to roll out Template projects, which for an architecture practice we need to do do for hundreds of projects. Sorely lacking feature in stock Sharepoint.

I have a problem though in that I can't save site scripts that contain certain lists. it allows me to save and confirms the save but they don't appear in the saved section.
My instinct is that it's something to do with permissions I'm global sharepoint admin.
Lists that cause the save to fail include :
Webpart Gallery
User Information List
appdata
Theme Gallery
appfiles
but this list is not exhaustive.
Perhaps this is the wrong place to discuss this, if so I apologise. Please direct me somewhere more suitable.

I have the same problem. Using Site Designs Studio, I cannot save site scripts or site designs in our dev tenant. SDS is working fine in our other tenant. It was working at one time, then it stopped. I removed and reinstalled but still nothing saves. I can add the same site script json using PowerShell.

Same Issue Here. Desing is saving, scripts are not.
