HI,
We are creating ten's of templates using the studio. In addition to following naming standards, we were hoping to categorize the templates visually with distinguished logos. I have uploaded the logo for a specific design via the Preview image. However post publishing and when try to apply a template on a site collection, the site design template is not picking up the image we used as preview image. Instead it picks and displays default image with cat :)

is it a bug, by design? did anyone else see this behavior?

I also verified the 'previewImageUrl' property on the published package using Get-SPOSiteDesign , it shows the url fine

or is it the thumbnail url that gets picked up and displayed when we go to "Apply a site template" and select the template?

We can close this.
The issue was with Thumbnail url. We are able to update it using Set-SPOSiteDeisgn!!
Wish Site Design Studio includes this in its next version.
