I start cosmic from a tty via cosmic-session
when I open settings
About>Operating System>Desktop Environment
This one is empty.
If an ENV has to be set, this should happen automatically.

Also, the version of cosmic-comp should be displayed somewhere,
tag name / commit hash, something like this in the meanwhile
