I already sent an email to admin@wiki.whatwg.org asking for an account on the whatwg wiki: https://wiki.whatwg.org/wiki/MetaExtensions

Hi Carlo. My understanding is that all you need to do to get a new meta tag value added to the spec is to edit that wiki with the new entry? Can you add microtip to that page? You can use any wording you want, but this is what I came up with:

microtip | Specifies the bitcoin address for sending bitcoin to the people responsible for
creating this page's content. This tag is used by various browser plugins that want to compensate
the site's creators. Since it's microtipping instead of micropayments, there is no need to specify
an amount. For full specification, see: http://autotip.io/docs/microtip-meta-tag

      <meta name="microtip" content="[bitcoin-address]">

Note: there can be multiple instances of this metatag on a page.

Hi Chris,

Not exactly. That's all I can do. After that the new tag results as a proposal and has to be approved.

Can you add microtip to that page?

Done. I changed some words: please check my sentences since my English isn't very good. Your link was broken, so I indicated another one.

Now I think you should follow the mailing list: https://wiki.whatwg.org/wiki/MetaExtensions#Process

Ciao!

Carlo

Thank you for posting that. I forgot to mention in my last post that I had planned on moving some urls around.

btw, how did you get your account? Did you just email them and they got back to you?

how did you get your account?

If I remember correctly, I asked for an account on IRC.

Ciao!
