Support for detecting fixed-length prefix barcodes for fastq-multx

In the protocol used by our lab barcodes are recorded as the first 8 symbols of 
the first read in a pair. I'd like to have a capability of automatically 
detecting barcodes using fastq-multx.

I made a patch (attached) that adds an option for setting blen, which 
effectively says to the tool to look only set number of characters. Is it 
possible to add it into the repo?
