We all at Public Lab 🎈 - learn, grow, work, brainstorm ideas, and contribute together. So why not share about our weekly goals and the awesome work we have done at Public Lab with each other, so we can support and collaborate with each other better? We have a Community Check-In each week where every community member can share something about their work from the past week and about their current week's goal 🎯 . You are also welcome to share fun-facts 😄 , new ideas 💡 , and your learning goals ☑️.

We believe in collaborative efforts to support our community. We are running a learning platform which helps a newcomer to become a leader of tomorrow. 💯

GSOC and Outreachy Applications Closing Soon!!!

For the past few weeks, we have had a staggering number of GSOC and Outreachy applicants contribute to several PublicLab projects. You all have been impressive and we are very grateful for your contributions ❤️ ❤️.

Now, it's time to start working on your final applications (or putting finishing touches if you have started already) and preparing to submit as the deadlines loom close.

The deadline for submissions of applications for GSOC is April 19, 2022 18:00 UTC (just 1 day away 🤯).

For Outreachy applicants, the deadline is April 22, 2022 at 16:00 UTC (4 days away).

If you are yet to post a proposal on the PublicLab website, please do so today so the mentors can review it and offer feedback which you can incorporate into your final application.

This week's focus Issue - Don't Despair

I would love to encourage all applicants to not give up. You've come so far and you're so close to the finish line. Don't give room to despair 💪 💪. Submit your proposal, incorporate mentors' feedback, and finish up your final application!

Hi all - due to the high number of applicants for our programs this year, we are closing the Outreachy projects to new contributors in 24 hours, so please be sure to begin your proposal on the Outreachy site before we close it! You don't have to have completed or submitted it but you must begin it or you won't be able to using the interface on their site.

We want to see your proposal on PublicLab.org at https://publiclab.org/notes/cess/04-04-2022/call-for-proposals-outreachy-summer-2022 but in order to participate in the program you must open an Outreachy.org proposal as well. Thank you very much! 🎉
