Describe the bug

I had a functional Installation with Memories working very well - Then after upgrade to Nextcloud 30.1, Thumbnails no longer displaying (just grey rectangles). Don't see any errors in log as to what problem might be.
image

Indexing and new files seems to be picked up fine - just no thumbnails displaying

Old Photos app still puts up thumbnails correctly.

Steps To Reproduce

Load memories - same on all tabs (Timeline, people, etc..) - not thumbnail displayed

Platform

- OS: Ubuntu 20.04
- Browser: Safari, Firefox
- Memories Version: 7.4.1
- Nextcloud Version: 30.1
- PHP Version: 8.3

Additional context

  • Any errors in the JS console? Not sure how to view - where would I see this?
  • Any errors in the Nextcloud server logs? No

If you use firefox then press Ctrl+shift+I and there you can find the (js) console as one of the tabs. Of interest can also be the network tab, see if requests for thumbnails are failing. The shortcut might be the same in other browsers, otherwise just search "for web devloper tools" and your browser, should be built in, no addons required.

Also, does the old photos app load thumbnails for new (as in uploaded after you saw the problem in memories) images?

So - it looks to be a problem with the Nextcloud Office app.
If I have this app enabled then thumbnails do not load as show above. With the Office app Disabled - then the behavior goes back to normal (thumbnails show up normally again). I have checked enabling/disabling it and this is the repeatably the behavior.
Leaving the Office App disabled for my instance (Memories app is more important to me!)

Photos app seems to be unaffected by this - it loaded all thumbnails including for the new images fine.
