Hello,
I have the strangest issue and I have no clue how to fix it. I would like any and all input. I seed over 6,000 files for a group I belong to. When I need to restart my computer, I used to highlight all files and force them for 10 minutes and then resume. this had worked for me to get things going for a couple of years now. I used to have my BitTorrent numbers set at 30 uploads 1 download unless downloading new files and infinite Maximum torrents. Now, after someone in my group suggested it and after my uploads became very slow to erratic, I have all three settings at infinite. I have tried changing everything that would seem to affect the upload rate and the number of uploads, both are dismal. Sometimes I get good speeds for a short time, or up and down speeds, but I never have more than 8 or so active uploads no matter how it is set. I use, fixed slot, &, round-robin in the advanced settings. It happened after I went to force all my files to get them going and I slipped with the mouse and clicked on re-check all files, which took about 2 hours for 6,000+ files.
My computer is a Supermicro H8DG6=F MOBO with two AMD 6386SE CPUs (16 cores/threads each) and 128 GB of Micron ECC REG DDR3 1866 MHz RAM. I have it overclocked using OCNG BIOS in addition to just a hair under 4 GHz with all cores running. The stock speed is 3.2GHz all cores and 3.6 GHz 1/2 the cores, I think. It has been running stably for over a year like that and no matter how long I have all 32 cores running they never go above 50 deg C. My Os in on two Samsung EVO 360 1TB SSDs in RAIDO and I have a Rocket RAID Card that uses a 16 full lane PCIe 2.2 slot to run an outboard full speed RAID5 drive that holds the seeds, and more of course. Right now it has eight 14TB WD Gold Helium filled Enterprise SATA3 drives, each getting the full SATA3 6Gbps bandwidth, with room for another eight drives. the RAID card can control 16 SATA3 or SAS2 drives at full speed, I use a straight-through backplane.
The only other thing I can think of that I did around the time things slowed to a crawl is, I tested some WAVES Plug-in software and was lazy and didn't use a sandbox, so I cleaned the computer out after testing it using REVO uninstall and went to the registry and removed leftover entries. I wasn't paying close enough attention and deleted a few Windows WAVE driver entri3es and can't play any music using WAVE drivers, I reinstalled the MOTU drivers for my I/o equipment AD/DA equipment but can only use ASIO. I don't think this had anything to do with the slow seeding.
I am running Windows 10 Enterprise x64. I also have qBittortrent set to use any interface even though I run Express VPN. So I can't see how it is qBittorrent, I just installed v4.3.7 and it made no change. Lastly, I got a new modem and router from Spectrum, but that was a couple of weeks before it started happening. it started right after the file rechecking. The seeds are all on a private tracker. I used to get up to 4.5 MiB and averaged about 4 MiB uploading. I have 40 Mbps up and 960 Mbps down service. Downloads come down fast as ever it seems, they never went above 500 Mbps, that is a Spectrum thing I think, I do speed tests on my ISP and can get 600 Mbps down and the full 40 Mbps up.
Could the recheck have done something to slow the upload speeds, I have downloaded 50 files since then and uploading is still the same? Right now it is just under 200 KiB, earlier it was peaking at over 3 MiB but no consistent like it used to be. I have qBittorrent set at high priority in task manager as I usually do when not using the computer for other things, all core affinity. I am out of ideas.
I would very much appreciate any help. Thank you in advance for reading my long post and considering my issue.
Sincerely,
Brian Burke Jr.
