APlayer FAQs

This is the list of Frequently asked questions for APlayer. It is intended to serve as a self-service utility document. This is to aid new users or already existing users of APlayer. This document may be updated from time to time to suit any new changes to the software as new developments or changes will be implemented.

  1. What is APlayer?

APlayer is a basic music player application for playing media(music) files on your mobile device.


  1. What are the features of APlayer?

APlayer is designed with all the basic features of a music player. Aside from that, it has some other cool features like;

  • Playlist.
  • Equalizer.
  • Grouped menus.
  • File browser.
  • Lyrics
  • Gesture
  • Desktop lyric
  • Sleep timer
  • UI customizations.

  1. How do I create, and add songs to a playlist?

To create a playlist on APlayer;

  • navigate to the playlists page. To do that; swipe left or right depending on the menu you are on.
  • On the playlists page, click on the plus (+) sign to create a new playlist.
  • Enter a suitable name for the playlist and click create.
  • After the playlist has been created, you'll be prompted to add songs to it immediately. You must add at least 1 song for the playlist to be created successfully.
  • If you wish to add songs to a playlist at other times, highlight a song by pressing and holding it.
  • Mark the songs you wish to add to the playlist.
  • At the top part of the app, you will find 3 icons. Click on the second icon(icon in the middle) to add the songs to a playlist.
  • Select the playlist, and the song will be added to it.

  1. Can I rename a playlist?

Yes, you can rename a playlist at any time.

  • Access the playlist page.
  • Click the 3 dots on the playlist you wish to change its name.
  • Click on the rename option.
  • Input the new name and confirm the change.

  1. Can I delete unwanted playlists?

Yes, you can delete an unwanted playlist. To delete a playlist;

  • Perform the same action as though you want to rename a playlist
  • Instead of clicking the rename option, click on remove.

  1. Can I import and export playlists on Aplayer?

Yes, you can easily import and export playlists on APlayer. This option is found in the settings page.


  1. Can I sort tracks on APlayer?

Yes, you can sort tracks on APlayer. To sort tracks;

  • Click on the first icon located at the top right of the app.
  • Choose the sorting option you desire, by clicking it.

  1. Where can I find the APlayer's equalizer?

APlayer doesn't have its own equalizer. It uses your device's equalizer app. But you can access it from/on APlayer. The equalizer is located on the settings page. However, built-in equalizer will be available in the next update release.


  1. Can I customize equalizer settings?

Yes, you can customize/tune the equalizer to suit it to your preferred sound.


  1. Can I include/exclude folders from the music library?

You cannot do this directly. But if you don't wish to play or see songs from a particular folder, you can choose to remove it. To restore it;

  • Go to the app settings.
  • Click on 'Restore songs' and the folder you removed will be restored.

  1. How can I play music from a particular folder?

To play music from a particular folder;

  • Access the file manager on the app. Access the app's options menu.
  • Click on the folder icon
  • Browse folder where you stored the music file(s) you wish to play.
  • Click on the 3 dots beside the folder and click on play.

  1. Which file types are supported?

APlayer uses the native media player that comes with your Android phone, so as long as a file type is supported by your phone, it's supported by APlayer.


  1. Do I have to manually scan new tracks into the music player?

No, APlayer automatically scans the library for new tracks. You can also decide to scan your device storage manually. The option to do that is found in the app's settings.


  1. Does APlayer contain ads?

No, the app doesn't contain any ads or unnecessary pop-ups


  1. Does the developer have access to, and collects any personal information when I use the software?

Yes, the developer has access to some of your personal information when the software is utilized. However, this information is not disclosed to anyone. Read the developer's privacy policy


  1. Do I have to pay for any feature on APlayer?

No, all the features and tools on APlayer are available for free.


  1. What device operating system can use APlayer?

APlayer is an Android software meaning it is only available to users using any device running on Android OS. Android 4.2+


  1. Where can I download APlayer?

The latest release of APlayer can be downloaded from google playstore. You can also download it here. To view the latest releases and all releases of APlayer, click here


  1. The app crashed. What can I do?

If the app crashes, or you experience any error while using the app; open an issue and log in a report. Make it as detailed as possible to enable the project owner to understand the error and provide a fix. You can include logcats when applicable.

  1. Can I contribute to APlayer project?

Yes, please!

Feel free to share your ideas(feature requests), submit a bug or pull request for anything you feel should be added.

This project is opened to contributions of any kind. You can also fork the project and further develop it on your own; as long as you work within the confines of the license. Pull requests of your contributions will be merged if they fulfil some certain requirements. Read the contributor's guidelines to get started.
