Custom rules not working in Sonarqube V7.4

Built-in rules for the json plugin work ok in sonarqube version 7.4. However, the custom rules for the json plugin do not appear to work. They install and run OK but fail to find matches in the scanned .json file.
The same custom rules work fine in sonarqube version 6.7
This issue can be replicated using this example project.

Thanks for the notification. I noticed the issue through another plugin I maintain: racodond/sonar-css-plugin#117 (comment)

I'll try to fix it as soon as I find some time.
