This change doesnt work with Rust Version 1.58 used in Meta-rust

@satlead I was going to ask you about whether or not we would want to fix versions across the mono-repo using workspace.dependencies.

So does this not work because the build environment is using Rust 1.58? Is it possible to get it upgraded or is that not realistic?

@adamdama we have been trying for a while to upgrade meta-rust from 1.58. Some organizations have upgraded to 1.68 or higher some still have 1.58.
