WebToys was more of a learning experience for me; to see what I could do with React (which I'd used before), Typescript, and TailwindCSS (which were new to me). I know how useful it is because people have told me and I still even use it myself fairly often. But my development efforts quickly dropped off because I think this code setup is way too clunky for what WebToys is and I lost interest in maintaining it (aside from merging dependabot PRs every now and then).
I would like to keep it web-based, of course, but I also want fewer dependencies and a simpler framework which should lead to a smaller bundle size. I'd prefer to use Javascript (or a derivative) because I don't yet understand WASM and I don't know if it has the same level of browser compatibility. Suggestions are welcome if you know of a small JS framework that you think would work well!
I am also planning to simplify the design quite a bit. I was quite literally copying DevToys at the time and my design sense took a back seat. I would like to do things differently this time.
