Now host rules can be added in https://developer.mend.io/github/{org}/{repo}/-/settings.
However, updating/deleting the rule fails as Error deleting host rule.

Looks like API request failed with 403 response.

I'm getting the same thing -- I have full admin on the repo. I could create the host rule, but haven't been able to update or delete it.

I've asked an org-level admin to try deleting it, but that often takes some number of days. I'll report back if that works.

I can delete secrets. However, this all started because I have a secret I want to rotate/update/delete and it's being used by a host rule that I can't modify or remove.

Same issue for me. I created secret as repo admin and can't remove it myself (can update though) ¯_(ツ)_/¯.
Even worse goes for rules. I've created a couple of rules I can't remove or even modify now.

Seems you are describing two separate issues:

1. Problem deleting secrets
2. Problem deleting/editing host rules.

If so, can you please describe repro steps so that we can try to replicate it and identify the cause?

@justo-mend I think so. I also have this issue right now.
In my case I have admin access in the repo, but not for the organization. To reproduce:

• Add a host rule in the repository
• Try to edit it or delete it
• Fails with 403 - the response is:
  {"data":{"error":"User does not have permission to access."}}
