Welcome to the CA2RXU -> LoRa_APRS_iGate wiki!

This Firmware started as a DIY LoRa APRS iGate with just an ESP32 Wroom and a SX1278 Module and then migrated to the TTGO Lilygo LoRa boards. The main goal was always to get all the functionality of the traditional VHF APRS but with a few improvements based on new technology available.

So far this iGate has the ability to:

  • Receive LoRa APRS packets and upload them to APRS-IS servers.
  • Receive the feed of APRS-IS servers and transmit packets to nearby stations.
  • Answer to Queries accessible from APRS and LoRa.
  • Transmit packet to listened stations as per APRS recommendations.
  • Change modes into Rx iGate, Tx+Rx iGate, Digirepeater Rx/Tx same frequency and Digirepeater Rx and Tx in different Frequencies.
  • OTA updates.
  • Syslog Server possibility.
  • TNC.
  • Support for BME280 Modules (Temperature, Humidity, Pressure).
