Swipe To Return?

Right now the app only uses swipe to change the current menu (settings, timeline, media, likes, mentions, etc.) Is there no way an option can be added to disable this and instead use swipe as a gesture to return to previous page?

Like if I'm on my timeline and I tap on a user's page, if I swipe back I will return to my timeline. If I tap on a user's post while in that profile, swiping back would return me to the profile, and another swipe back to the timeline, etc.

Can this be done?
