ptgenmap \- generate map file for libpretrace
.SH SYNOPSIS
.B ptgenmap
.SH DESCRIPTION
ptgenmap is used to parse the libpretrace configuration file, 
.I /etc/pretrace.conf
, and generate the corresponding map file. ptgenmap must be executed after modifying the libpretrace configuration file for changes to take effect.
.SH TECHNICAL DETAILS
ptgenmap parses the libpretrace configuration file and writes a state file to
.I /etc/pretrace.map
which is used by libpretrace on initialisation. This allows libpretrace to associate name/value pairs very quickly.
.SH EXIT STATUS
ptgenmap returns zero on success, and non zero on error.
