Vertically large smileys being cut off at bottom of editor

Smiley/emoticon's that are larger vertically are being cut off at the bottom of the editor when being used. I am using SMF 2.1.1. and the attached video demonstrates the issue. If I add a large smiley... they type... the window will first show only part of the smiley then will spring open fully as I type... however if I type then hit the smiley, rather than spring open it will push the text down below the editor window until another character is typed. I am attaching TWO videos below demonstrating the issue.
