When choosing a game engine, people are usually mostly concerned about the types of games they want to make.
2D/3D is a good first filter.

I've also been thinking about library markup, but I'm not sure yet exactly how to design these tags correctly.
I could make several pages that would be grouped into different categories or write all the tags before each link to search on the spot.

List of potential considerations: language, platforms, commercial/open source, easily playable on the browser vs needs download, genre, quality, state (prototype/complete/partial)... It's a complicated problem! There's the itch.io collection too, which could possibly be linked.

I'm daydreaming that the best way to do it would be with a small webpage that uses some javascript to let people search / filter by tags. If there's more people interested, I might consider contributing myself; such a game directory for ebitengine would be extremely cool to have. But yeah, it's unclear what would be the best place for something like that, it might exceed the current README scope and start getting subjective.
